Team -
Ross and I trust that you’ve been working to ensure the safety of your families during this challenging time. We hope controlling that aspect of your life will help bring some measure of comfort.
Clearly this is an unprecedented time in our country’s history. For the two of us,beyond the health implications, the business uncertainty is a troubling aspect of this process. We don’t expect this crisis to belong term and wanted to share some insight into how we are thinking about M|B going forward.
M|B survived and thrived after both 9/11 and the 2008 GFC disasters, and actually grew market share in the subsequent two years after each event. While it is too early to tell what the future holds now, both of us are taking every available measure to ensure we have M|B on solid ground. The company was already debt-free before this process started, and we’re assessing cost saving measures to continue to push forward.
As for the onsite teams, we are confident that demand will return when the dust settles. The economy will be severely impaired in the short term, but housing will recover, supply is still constrained and rates will be as low as they have been in modern history.
Try your best to adjust to this new normal. Be a steady hand. Take this opportunity to rethink the entire sales process. Innovate. Stay in touch with your customers and your clients and give them candid feedback.
As always, we are both here for you.
